City council has given the go-ahead to Northern Vision Development to build a drive-thru in Whistle Bend.

Council approved the application from the developer to build a restaurant with a drive-thru component with a 6-1 vote. The lone councillor who voted against the drive-thru was Coun. Lenore Morris.

The developer’s application to have the zoning in the area changed to permit the drive-thru came before council in June. At that time, NVD CEO Michael Hale said that a drive-thru would be needed on the commercial lot for economic viability.
