LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man was sentenced on Monday for sexually assaulting a teen over a decade after being convicted of the same crime.
Tyler Huddleston, 37, pled no contest to first-degree sexual assault and was sentenced to 40-50 years in prison with credit for 241 days already served. Upon release, Huddleston will be subject to a lifetime of parole.
He will also have to register, again, with the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.
Huddleston was initially charged with a single count of first-degree sexual assault of a child but it was amended after he entered his plea.
A protection order accuses Huddleston of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl between 2021 and late 2024. The girl reported the assaults to school staff earlier this year, according to court documents.
