The FBI is investigating multiple bomb threats that have repeatedly shut down a section of Nantucket’s Main Street shopping district over the past week, officials said.

The threats, which were determined to be hoaxes , began Aug. 5, and continued Friday and Saturday.

Police in Nantucket said the four threats targeted the same building at 16 Main St., the location of a Ralph Lauren clothing store.

The island’s police call center received the most recent bomb threat on Saturday night, police said.

Around 10:30 p.m., dispatchers received a call from an individual saying they intended to place an improvised explosive device at the Main Street address, police said.
