LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Northeast players want to play in the playoffs, which seemed like a distant goal last summer. Now its a legitimate possibility following a breakout season for the Rockets.
LNE ended the program’s 24-game losing streak last fall with a season-opening victory against Omaha Northwest. The Rockets won the next two games, as well. During the unexpected winning streak, Lincoln Northeast outscored its opponents 167-0.
Multiple key players from the 2024 squad return this fall, which gives Javonta Boyd’s squad confidence that it can improve on a 4-5 record. In fact, starters return at 15 positions including quarterback Grant Matson.
Lincoln Northeast begins the 2025 campaign on August 29th.
