KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The city of Knoxville is responding to old city merchants' frustrations, making changes to traffic patterns and parking.

Deputy Chief of Operations for the City, Chip Barry, said they are working with Old City merchants and the Old City Association to continue improving the efforts.

"We want to make sure everyone's needs are being met, so we compromised," Barry said.

One recent change to traffic patterns at Covenant Health Park is parking under the James White Parkway when there is no game. Parking is free on both weekdays and weekends.

The parkway is located between the old city and the stadium.

Leaders are also lowering the price of the Old City South Lot, changing the maximum pay to $3 instead of $7.
