YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — At least two DACA recipients have been detained in Yuma in recent weeks, according to the Mexican Consulate in Yuma .
The most recent case involves 27-year-old José Valdovinos , who was taken into custody by Border Patrol on Sunday. His wife says they were pulled over , and during the stop, an agent told them that DACA was no longer considered legal status.
Head of Consulate of Mexico, Dulce María Valle Álvarez , confirmed officials visited Valdovinos on Monday before he was transferred to the Florence detention center on Tuesday.
