BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — One group in Baton Rouge is bridging the gap between the mind and the world around.

Teens from 22 states met on the East Coast to put their minds together.

“It kind of brought out a lot of people to us to see that there's a difference. Like, not everyone is the same. Not everyone might sit in the same," said Ki’Laja Lanaute, BRidge Agency 10th grader.

A first-time trip to Washington, D.C., for the National Police Athletic League’s Youth Summit exceeded the expectations of two kids from Baton Rouge.

“I'm so used to people saying 'D.C. is like this, D.C. is like that.' When you’re in the moment, everything just feels so big. We feel so small," said Lanaute.
