BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Baton Rouge man is accused of trying to run over his girlfriend with a vehicle.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Christian Coleman, 35, was charged with attempted second-degree murder and domestic abuse battery.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office was called to the 5600 block of Cheryl Road around 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10.

When they arrived, they began an investigation into an attempted murder. As the investigation unfolded, EBRSO learned that Coleman arrived at a home "to confront his live-in girlfriend regarding an ongoing domestic dispute."
