LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Court records reveal the context behind a Jefferson County Judge’s decision to grant an early probationary release for a suspect now accused in a violent kidnapping-turned-bank robbery .
Last year, Armond Langford pleaded guilty to a series of 2021 robberies, but shortly after, he was released on shock probation.
WAVE has been digging into the court records, showing what weighed into the judge’s decision for early release.
In July 2024, Armond Langford asked Judge Jessica Green for a probationary release from a 14-year prison sentence for a series of 2021 armed robberies.
Prosecutors objected.
“Mr. Langford terrorized our community for several months. He wasn’t going to stop. These offenses kept going. More victims kept accumulating,” prosecutors said.
