GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - An Alachua County judge is being tapped to fill a vacancy in circuit court.
On Tuesday, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Kristine Van Vorst as a judge on the 8th Judicial Circuit Court.

She has served as a county court judge for Alachua County since 2017 and has also served as a general magistrate in the 8th Judicial Circuit.
Van Vorst fills the seat left open by judge Mark Moseley, who retired in April.
