BRONSON, Fla. (WCJB) - Test drilling will soon be underway for the Waccasassa Water and Wastewater Cooperative at the town of Bronson’s Wastewater Treatment Plant.
This is the first test in funneling clean water from Bronson to surrounding cities, and it could be the last one.
It’s a project more than two years in the works. But some fear the aquifer in Bronson would dry up, leaving them with no clean water.
“They have to find plenty of water, and it has to be clean,” shared Rachel Weeks, chair of the W3C board. “It can’t hurt anybody’s local wells, and if it does, if it drops our water table here in Bronson, then we know it’s not going to work.”
The W3C agreement is between Bronson, Otter Creek, and Cedar Key, with the hope of funneling in clean water for everyone.
“Bronson, right no
