Manchester is expected to see temperatures of over 30C today as the UK gets ready for another heatwave.

An amber alert for heat is currently in place in parts of the UK with a warning to people to make sure they are taking measures to keep cool and hydrated in the heat.

The amber alert covers the West Midlands, East Midlands, South East, London, and East of England, and large parts of the rest of the UK have a yellow alert in place due to the heat.

Temperatures in Greater Manchester are expected to see a high of 31C today, peaking at around 3pm before dipping back into the twenties by 6pm, according to BBC Weather .
