Officers have issued an update after a woman was arrested following the stabbing of a shop worker in Moss Side .

Emergency services descended on Princess Road at around 10.20pm on Sunday night (August 10).

Witnesses reported seeing a large gathering in the area at the time , hours after thousands of people had celebrated Manchester's annual Caribbean Carnival .

Greater Manchester Police said a 51-year-old man was stabbed near to the junction with Alison Street.

A cordon was put in place outside the Richie and Nickie Liquor Store, with police remaining there and at an alleyway on Greame Street on Monday morning.
