Some Mooresville city leaders say they are unlikely to vote in favor of a rezoning that would allow a proposed data center to be built.

Mayor Chris Carney and Commissioner Gary West both said they probably would not vote yes without knowing what company plans to use the facility.

Tract is the company behind the request to rezone roughly 400 acres of property owned by Teresa Earnhardt . Tract plans to build a data center on the property but has not said which company the data center is being built for.

The rezoning request that would allow for the data center to be built will go before the Mooresville Town Board of Commissioners on Sept. 15.
