DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Quad Cities area non-profit is working to help children entering foster care transition.

For many, the transition happens suddenly and often with little warning. They may leave everything they know behind, carrying only the clothes on their backs or a few belongings stuffed into a trash bag.

My Gear Outreach, a nonprofit founded by Liz Estilow, is working to change that.

For 10 years, the organization has provided duffle bags filled with brand new essentials like clothing, toiletries, pajamas, toys and comfort items to help children feel supported as they transition into a new home.
