Woman in critical condition after being hit by car while walking dogs

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Officials say a 74-year-old woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car.

The City of Bettendorf said on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. a 74-year-old woman was walking her two dogs at the intersection of 18th Street and Crow Creek Road when she was hit by a car.

Officials said the woman was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

One of the dogs did die, officials said. The other dog has non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
