DES MOINES, Iowa (KCCI) - An Iowa State Fair vendor is selling cookies to support breast cancer patients, KCCI reports .

Donna O’Brien is a breast cancer survivor herself, and is making it her mission to raise funds for the Beyond PINK team, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance to patients with breast cancer.

O’Brien was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer in 2008.

“At year 10, my doctor, at my check-up, sat down with me and said I didn’t think we would be sitting here. And he said, ‘Go live your life.’ And so my goal has been to raise as much money and help those people that didn’t have the support I did,” said O’Brien.
