KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - A Kinston man is facing charges after police say he shot at an occupied car multiple times.

Kinston police say they were called to a report of shots fired on Saturday around 11:15 p.m. near George Avenue and Dixon Street.

When they got there, officers said they found a car that had been struck by gunfire nine times.

After an investigation into the shooting, police got warrants and arrested 20-year-old Syriek Evans.

Evans was charged with the following:

First-degree attempted murder

Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill

Nine counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle

Malicious assault in secret

Discharging a firearm within city limits

Going armed to the terror of the people

Officers said they also recovered a stolen gun during their
