A man's life-saving actions during the flooding on Chattanooga's interstates on Tuesday evening were caught on camera as he helped a woman who was trapped in a vehicle.

An EPB spokesperson says Troy Plemons, a member of the fiber installation team, saw a woman who was trapped by floodwaters in an SUV near the I-24/I-75 split and jumped in to help her.

Video shows Plemons using a rock to break out the window of the Honda Pilot and help the woman as she crawled out of the SUV.

Plemons can then be seen helping the woman through the waters, eventually getting her to safety.

"We’re incredibly proud of Troy and grateful for all the everyday heroes who make Chattanooga strong," EPB said on Facebook .

The woman's name has not been released at this time.
