PITTSFIELD TWP., MI — A new discount department store is coming to the Ypsilanti area.

Burlington Stores will open a branch this fall in Carpenter Plaza, 3150 Carpenter Road, in Pittsfield Township, the retail chain announced in a Monday, Aug. 11 statement. The official opening date is not yet determined.

Burlington, which offers low prices on clothes, home décor, handbags, beauty accessories, pet care and other items, has more than 1,100 stores nationwide. The store will be the 32nd branch open in Michigan. The closest other store is in Ann Arbor at 215 N. Maple Road. It opened in 2023 .
