CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) -- Coastal Carolina men’s soccer head coach Shaun Docking, who led the Chanticleers to 23 Big South and Sun Belt Conference championships over 26 seasons, announced his retirement on Wednesday, the university said in a news release.

Docking's teams compiled a 312-167-56 record and earned 11 trips to the NCAA tournament. He was recognized as conference coach of the year eight times. His retirement is effective immediately.

“I want to thank everyone at Coastal,” Docking said. “It has been a wonderful experience and opportunity for me, and I have nothing but fondness and great memories."

Docking said he's retiring "to pursue some business opportunities and ventures" but will continue to cheer on the Chanticleers.
