SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington State Nurses Association (WSNA) is taking action after it says more than a dozen nurses were fired from a Spokane hospital.

WSNA told KREM 2 that 15 nurses were fired after a 12-year-old patient who was under psychiatric care at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center died by suicide in April. A spokesperson from WSNA says they are filing grievances on behalf of those nurses.

Sacred Heart said in a statement that the nurses violated the hospital's code of conduct, including patient privacy.
