BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The deadline for payment of unsecured property taxes in Kern County is Sept. 2, Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector Jordan Kaufman announced on Wednesday.

Unsecured personal property tax bills are for business equipment, farm equipment, aircraft, boats and other similar items not attached to real estate, Kaufman said in a county press release.

The unsecured tax bills were mailed on July 10 to all unsecured property owners who owned personal property as of Jan. 1 and whose addresses the County Assessor-Recorder was aware of, Kaufman said.
