A Massachusetts middle school librarian is facing federal charges for allegedly distributing child sexual abuse material.

Scott McGinley, 55, of Holyoke -- a librarian for Williams and Glenbrook middle schools in Longmeadow -- was arrested Wednesday, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. He was scheduled to make his initial court appearance in federal court in Boston at 3 p.m.

Prosecutors say he allegedly kept items for young children inside a locked case stored in his basement, including children's underwear, bedding, a Santa costume, diapers, diaper cream and apple sauce packets.
