Fresh off a Republican primary runoff win in a special election for House District 12 on Tuesday, a new poll shows Cindy Myrex would also be competitive in a hypothetical matchup with State Sen. Pro-Tem Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman) in 2026.

According to a poll conducted Wednesday morning by Cullman Daily with 355 responses, Gudger is narrowly ahead of Myrex by a 30% to 29% margin, or 98 to 93 votes. Forty-one percent of respondents, or 131 votes, were undecided.

Other possible challengers against Gudger included in the poll were Bradley Williams, a victim services officer with the Cullman County District Attorney's Office. According to the poll, Gudger leads Williams by a 33% to 23% margin with 44% undecided.
