Whitehorse city council has adopted the Whitehorse North trail plan as a guiding document.

The plan has had a troubled past: after it was first adopted in 2022, residents of the area had raised concerns about the way the City had done engagement. A report on the trail plan provided by city staff on June 30 said people raised issues with “limited public awareness, missed communications, and an in-person session that was not accessible for many.”

Approval of the trail plan was postponed before council went for their summer recess on July 7.

At the time, Coun. Anne Middler proposed the postponement on account that she would appreciate more time to review the plan, which is a map. Councillors unanimously supported the postponement of the decision.
