FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. — Search and rescue operations continue in the Chattanooga area as the region faces a second day of heavy rainfall.
Four people have died after Tuesday's rain. A state of emergency remains in effect for Hamilton County, Tenn.
The National Weather Service reported Tuesday night that Chattanooga received 6.42" at the metropolitan airport. That is the second highest one-day total on record.
