WESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — A vehicle accident has shut down Interstate 79 southbound in Lewis County.

The two-vehicle accident occurred at mile marker 104, As of 4:30 p.m., and all lanes are closed, shutting down the southbound half of the interstate down to Exit 99.

A Lewis-Gilmer E911 official reported multiple injuries in the incident and at least one extrication.

As of around 4:30 p.m., wreckers were en route to the scene to haul away debris, according to the 911 official.

The Weston and Jane Lew fire departments, Lewis County EMS, the Lewis County Sheriff's Department and West Virginia State Police responded.
