Flair Airlines vows to keep flying from the Kitchener airport even as it trims flights and regional government dials down airport expansion.
“I want to assure everyone that we are committed to Kitchener-Waterloo,” Flair chief executive Maciej Wilk said while visiting the Region of Waterloo International Airport Wednesday. “It’s a great place to be.”
The discount airline recently ended its international flights out of Kitchener. It closed a crew base there, meaning it no longer parks Boeing 737 jetliners in Kitchener overnight for crews to staff in the morning.
Flair previously offered flights from Kitchener to destinations in the U.S. and Mexico. It might offer them again.
“If we see sufficient demand, that’s an easy change for us,” Wilk said. “What comes in 2026, it’s still too earl
