After a "lengthy" and delayed process involving federal government approval from Corporations Canada, operations have begun as one organization for Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade (SWRBOT), the result of a merger of Surrey Board of Trade and South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce.

So reports CEO Joslyn Young in an Aug. 13 email to members.

"This marks an exciting new chapter for our business community, and over the coming months, you will begin to see changes that reflect our new, unified identity," she wrote.

"The Minister has now signed off, and we are awaiting Governor-in-Council review and issuance of the Order in Council."
