SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Firefighters responded to a structure fire in Spokane Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

The Spokane Valley Fire Department says crews responded to the 11000 block of East Montgomery Avenue around 3 p.m. for a call about a fire.

As firefighters arrived, they found employees evacuating the building and smoke coming from the building. The first firefighters on scene found a fire in the ceiling of a cold storage unit that was reportedly -40 degrees.

Fire officials say the sprinkler system controlled the fire and crews fully extinguished it as of 4:15 p.m.

There were no injuries reported and an SVFD investigator is on scene looking into the cause of the fire.
