Council member Paula Blackmon said she'll need city council support for an approximately $500,000 budget amendment to keep the Skillman Southwestern library branch open in 2026.

A steady stream of cars pulled into the parking lot on Wednesday outside the Skillman Southwestern branch of the Dallas Public Library.

Some, like Casey Sisk, were there to return books in the drop-off container outside the main entrance, unaware that the branch faces the possibility of closure for the second time in as many years .

"That would make really sad," Sisk said. "This is my go-to library.”
