The Conservative Party of BC wants the China-BC Ferries $1-billion contract dissolved and replaced with a Canadian-made contract, but major domestic shipyards say they’re at capacity.
Seaspan’s North Vancouver shipyard is building ships for the Canadian Coast Guard, and the Royal Canadian Navy.
In fact, both Seaspan and the country’s largest shipyard, Davie Shipyard, are at capacity until the end of the decade.
