SPOKANE, Wash. - Multiple construction projects in the Spokane region are on pause due to a strike that began on Tuesday, causing significant delays and bringing traffic to a standstill in some areas.
The North-South Corridor Project and the Greene Street Bridge Project will remain stopped until the strike ends. Both projects will cause significant delays during the work stoppage.
Outside of Inland Asphalt, International Union Operating Engineers were picketing. Both the workers and multiple union representatives declined to comment on why they are on strike.
The union is in contract negotiations with the construction coalition. The Associated General Contractors (AGC) also refused to comment when contacted.
The community has mixed reviews about how the strike will impact them. Stanle
