JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Janesville police arrested a man on child sex trafficking charges Tuesday who they said traveled to North Carolina to meet a teenage girl and brought her back to Janesville.

Adam Gurney, 29, faces charges of trafficking of a child, child enticement and sexual intercourse with a child older than 16. The charges have yet to be formally filed in Rock County Court.

The Janesville Police Department said it received a tip at around 2 p.m. Tuesday from the sheriff's office in Clay County, N.C., about a missing girl. Investigators believed that Gurney had traveled to Clay County, met the girl and brought her back to Janesville. A warrant was issued for Gurney's arrest.
