Generators were delivered one after the other on Wednesday at the docks of Port Alberni’s MV Lady Rose. All of them are going to help the firefight and communities now cut off from power by the Mount Underwood wildfire.
“It’s really busy. Quite chaotic with the forest fires so close to town and everybody’s on alert right now,” said Dan Riley, a captain of the MV Lady Rose.
Riley told CHEK News he is proud of how his community is rallying to help the over 500 households and businesses that have been cut off from power since Monday.
Thursday, the MV Lady Rose will carry people, as well as supplies like food and fuel, into Bamfield, and provide critical support via the Alberni Inlet.
