PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - TriMet is warning riders to prepare for a week-long disruption of MAX train service through the tunnel under Portland’s Washington Park in September.

The tunnel will be closed from Sunday, Sept. 7 to Saturday, Sept. 13, while crews work to improve the train tracks and overhead wire systems that power the trains. They will also replace rail ties and deep clean inside the tunnel.

During the closure, shuttle buses will carry riders between Sunset Transit Center and Providence Park.
