A yearslong effort to improve wastewater infrastructure in Agua Fría village moved forward Wednesday when Santa Fe County commissioners hired a firm to provide engineering design services for part of the project.
Bohannan Huston, a civil engineering company with an Albuquerque office, will provide services for Phase 4 of the project, which involves wastewater infrastructure for nine streets in the village. This follows a 2017 report that identified 38 streets in the village in need of wastewater extensions, where residents have disposed of sewage with septic tanks, leach fields or cesspools, leading to concerns about potential groundwater impacts.
Phase 4 of the project aims to add wastewater infrastructure to Entrada Fabian; Floral Drive; Rancho de Chavez; Hammond Road; West Alameda Str
