BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is closing the Mount Hope Bridge tonight at 7.

It will remain closed until Monday, August 18 at 5 in the morning.

RITBA will be resurfacing the roads along the bridge and it will be closed to all traffic.

The new road surface is expected to last until 2030.

However, RITBA said they’re looking towards a “re-decking” project for the bridge, which was last done in 1985.
