Deputies responding to a ShotSpotter activation in south Sacramento found several buildings struck by gunfire on Wednesday night, according to the sheriff's office. A person who was shot walked into an area hospital.

The sheriff's office said one victim from the shooting arrived at an area hospital. Their condition is unknown.
Officials said one man was detained in connection with the shooting. He was found at the shooting scene and was taken to an area hospital for shortness of breath.
