LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Driving to school is something many high schoolers look forward to, but this year, it comes with a few detours for more than half of Henry Clay High School's student drivers, including senior Shyla Thompson.

"I'm a little concerned because I don't know where I'm supposed to park," Shyla said.

One of Fayette County's biggest schools is getting a new building to house its roughly 2,000 students. That construction has taken away many parking spaces for staff and students.

"They've known about the construction, I would say at least for a year, so it's a little bit frustrating that we're just kind of realizing there's no solution," said Shyla's mom, Mindy Thompson.
