Helen of Troy’s board of directors tapped a former Nike and Coca-Cola executive to run the El Paso consumer products company that’s seen its sales decline and stock price plunge in recent months.
Scott Uzzell, who worked almost six years for Nike as general manager of its North America operations and as chief executive officer of its Converse brand, will take over as Helen of Troy CEO Sept. 1, company officials announced Wednesday.
The announcement comes almost three months after the Helen of Troy board replaced Noel Geoffroy , the 57-year-old company's first woman CEO, after only a year in the job.
Uzzell is Helen of Troy's first Black CEO.
Brian Grass, the company's chief financial officer, was interim CEO during the search for a permanent leader.
