The Joe Louis Greenway is celebrating the end of summer with free food, backpacks and entertainment at 7241 McDonald St. in Detroit.

The event is set for Wednesday, Aug. 20, from noon-9 p.m. and will include free access to Chamberlin Petting Zoo and complimentary roller skating with the Motown Roller Club, local music and educational activities. There will be 300 free backpacks for students, according to a news release about the event.
