In the learned view of Ned Connors, the brick buildings on the Bristol County Water Authority campus off Child Street are not only viable for reuse, but it's almost incumbent on the entity to allow the structures to be renovated for historical purposes and as a token of goodwill to the communities they've served for over a century.
Connors, a historical preservation consultant for 35 years, reacted in recent days as a RFP (Request for Proposal) solicitation by the BCWA for the buildings was set to expire as of Thursday, Aug. 14 .
Connors has been involved with the BCWA's efforts for several years. He started under the auspices of former BCWA Executive Director Pamela Marchand and has continued to an extent with her successor in the position, Steve Coutu.
