WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — Ann Arbor and its surrounding areas offer events for many interests this weekend.

Art lovers can peruse the work of more than 75 artists at the Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival. Anime and manga lovers can attend Anime Arbor 2025 at the downtown District Library. And you can immerse yourself in Arab culture at the 2025 Arabian Nights Festival in Ann Arbor.

Here are some fun things happening from Friday, Aug. 15, to Sunday, Aug. 17.

Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival

The 13th annual event, which runs from Monday until Saturday, Aug. 16, features 70 artists, hundreds of pieces of art for sale, art workshops and more.

Artists will paint around Dexter from Monday through Friday, Aug. 15, fitting the name “plein air,” which refers to the French term for painting outdoors.
