BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont's longest-running community fundraiser, the "Tasting for Some Other Place," will return August 19 , bringing together more than 40 local businesses and churches to support neighbors in need through the nonprofit's sole annual fundraising event.

The 23rd annual event serves as the primary fundraiser for Some Other Place, a local nonprofit that operates a soup kitchen, day center, and provides utility assistance and back-to-school support for children. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online at SomeOtherPlaceBeaumont.com or at the door.

"It's the community representation all in one room. It's a beautiful thing to see," said Chris Robertson, executive director at Some Other Place, during a recent interview on 12News' midday show.
