MACY, Neb. (KTIV) - A Northeast Nebraska sheriff’s office says they recovered a body over the weekend.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says at about 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, they received reports of a body floating in the Missouri River.

According to the sheriff’s office, the body was south of Macy, Nebraska, but north of Decatur. Local responders were able to recover the body, and it was sent to the Douglas County Coroner’s Office for identification.

Authorities believe they have identified this person. They are not releasing the name as the investigation is still ongoing.
