HAMPTON, Va. — A French bulldog named Macho who was stolen from his owner at gunpoint in Hampton on Thursday was reunited with his owner.
It began when Hampton police received a report of a robbery on Wednesday just before 5:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of North Campus Parkway, at an apartment complex not far from the National Institute of Aerospace.
Police said a man was walking his 2-year-old French bulldog when a vehicle stopped. One person exited the car, showed a firearm and took the dog.
For Calvin Cooper, it was a normal Wednesday, walking Macho around his complex. But in a flash, he said, thieves held him at gunpoint and snatched Macho. His best friend was gone in an instant.
Cooper said he's never been in a life-or-death situation like this one.
