BARABOO, Wis. (WKOW) — In a testament to emergency preparedness, quick-thinking associates at Blain’s Farm & Fleet in Baraboo saved a customer's life using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
On April 25, Jim Krueger, 73, of Reedsburg, suffered a heart attack while shopping. Store Manager Jack Adams and his team immediately sprang into action.
“Years of training took over,” Adams said, highlighting the coordinated effort that included CPR and AED use.
Krueger, a regular customer at the store, spent 12 days in intensive care and returned to thank the associates. “If I had collapsed anywhere else, I might not be here. Because of them and that AED, I get more time with my family,” Krueger said.
