NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - Two New Bern men are in jail under multi-million dollar bonds after a drug bust involving multiple agencies.
New Bern police say they raided two homes, one on Raleigh Street and the other on Pate Road, and conducted a probation search on Old Cherry Point Road yesterday.
Tyric McCarter, 27, and Najier Hardesty, 25, were both charged with trafficking opium/heroin by manufacturing and trafficking opium/heroin by possession.
Hardesty was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill for a shooting in New Bern on July 26th.
McCarter was jailed on a $4.5 million secured bond, while Hardesty’s bond was set at $2.5 million.
